People don't want to see me succeed and get better.

That's cool, fine, I'll tone down my victory dance a bit. But let it come as no surprise when I get into a top 15 school.

I like how anger turns into confidence after a restless night.

What kind of disgusting world do we live in where the successful have to hide their success to have friends?

People hate ambitious people.

That's the title of my up-and-coming book. You know.

books make me feel a lot less human
"unconditional love" seems to be the universal theme
i am the confused protagonist, and this has been a very uneventful rising action
also, camping is non-fun
i touched a donkey today and it did not bite
the chatter is getting to me, but i can forgive it
i feel as if i am waking from a long sleep
things are much clearer now
no one has done anything
camping is a little bit fun
i am not compassionate, and i'm not sure if i want to be

I'm back home.
Pictures and overview tomorrow.
I'm still on New York time, so I feel like its 4:16am.

Love,
Lily

Sometimes I will write in French here.  If you speak French, sorry if I'm butchering it.

Anyway!  Vocabulary time:
"What a precocious child!  She'll be at Oxford Academy in a few years, won't she?"
You must provide for every contingency before you go camping.
John Calvin hath said,"'Tis foreordained!"
Fatalism is just another way to be lazy.
Although the frog's vibrant colors give it a menacing look, it is actually quite innocuous.
God, man!  Be pragmatic!
He walked around the city so furtively after he got away with stealing the CD.
Super secret spies specialize in clandestine operations.
Not too seedy, if I do say so myself.
Be careful with the soap for it is especially unctuous when wet.
Dessicate the clothes by hanging them on the clothesline.
Opal is such burnished rock.
A rainbow is variegated.
Lawyers are mercurial personalities; I hardly hear what they say beyond their slew of lies.

Not amazing sentences, meaning that you wouldn't understand them if you didn't know the definitions already.  But they make sense to me, so there.

I'm playing tennis later on tonight with Olivia.  It's incredibly hot.  The lovely kiosk at the front of the school flashed "100 degrees F" as I walked by at noon.

The Fountainhead is a very good novel.  There are some parts that I honestly don't care for.  But Howard Roark, Peter Keating, Ellsworth Toohey, and of course Miss Dominique Francon are very interesting people.  I do not believe, however, that they are real.
